Transforming Passion into Impact
Helping charities and not-for-profits reach their full potential

About Rea
I’m Rea Vriends — a systems thinker, and passionate advocate for community-led change. With a background in psychology, nonprofit leadership, and grassroots outreach, I started Vriends Consulting to support the kinds of organizations that shaped me: those working hard, often quietly, to make a real difference. I bring heart, structure, and lived experience to help you scale your mission and create lasting impact.
Examples of Work

Ontario Credit Union Foundation
Led strategic direction and daily operations of province-wide foundation, strengthening partnerships with over 60 Ontario credit unions
Expanded the CU Succeed Youth Bursary program, directly supporting over 80 financially disadvantaged students each year through targeted outreach, donor stewardship, and community engagement
Planned and executed fundraising events, while enhancing the Foundation’s visibility through sector presentations, digital campaigns, and stakeholder relations
My core interests lie in bursary and scholarship programs, youth development, and mental health initiatives. I’m especially passionate about helping organizations that invest in young people’s potential and support mental wellness through accessible, community-based approaches.

“Rea is deeply committed to giving back through many ventures, having dedicated much of her life to
volunteerism and community engagement. Her background in psychology provides her with a strong
understanding of people, motivation, and leadership dynamics-key skills that will help her foster strong
relationships and drive engagement within the credit union community.”
